Changes to the SmartyHost Status System

As part of ongoing efforts to improve our Serviece Status system, updates are now available through the SmartyHost Status Feed on Twitter. After August 31, this page ( will no longer be available and will automatically redirect to Twitter.

  • Service Upgrade - PHP Upgrade Rollout

    We are rolling out the upgrade of PHP from 5.2 to 5.5 today. There will be staggered upgrades between 0900 AEST and approximately 1400 AEST. This only affects clients on our Toolkit hosting platform and will affect Web Services only.

  • Service degradation - Domain Name Renew/Registration - Resolved

    We are investigating an issue that possibly affecting domain name renewals, we will provide an update when we get more information from AusRegistry.

    The registering and the renewal of the domains are been processed through the registry. If you check the Accounting Log, you can see that the payment has been processed as well. The domains are not been synced with the system at the moment.

    Please get in touch with us, if you need urgent changes made to the domain.

    The domains are registering/ renewing with the registry. We are working on updating the domain details on the system

    We would like to advise of an upcoming maintenance activity for our phone system. During this period there may be a brief interruption for inbound calls to our service desk. Our team will be monitoring closely and will arrange a callback for anyone who was not able to successfully connect.

    Throughout the maintenance period customers will be able to reach our staff by opening a ticket via the support portal.

    A phone system issue is currently preventing our service desk from answering incoming customer queries.

    Technicians are currently working to resolve this.

    In the interim customers are encouraged to submit a callback request, utilise Livechat or open a support ticket.

    Our service desk is now able to answer incoming calls, however there may be some delays due to a backlog of calls.

    Platform staff will be performing a storage upgrade on our email servers. During this time, no POP, IMAP or Webmail access will be available. Any mail that is sent during this period will be queued and delivered shortly after the scheduled maintenance has been completed.
